A frustrating day, dealing incessantly with never-ending technical problems. A small prototype was built, looking into the possibilities of creating paper nets from 3 dimensional computer models. The idea would be to create large nets that would be assembled by the unskilled visitors to the exhibition. Unfortunately, it is incredibly difficult to find a balance between a good-looking construction and one that is easy to put together, as the details of the net multiply the difficulty of constructing it exponentially.
A small break-through was made with the painting software, after 7 hours of trying to correct errors in the way in which images were buffered. Hopefully, tomorrow we should be able to try out the program, also implementing some of the time study data that we collected last week to see how well our figures work when a real image is being painted.
The New Fordist Organization GEMAK residency was supported by GEMAK and a Stroom PRO Kunstprojecten Grant.
