A continuation of yesterday's work. Jeremiah, tested out his stuff on the green (and blue) screen as seen below, more paper was purchased to extend the work with the painting, and some organizational details were cleared up regarding the workshops which will happen later in the month.
The painting software was used to start a new 4-colour portrait of Ivan Pavlov (NFO-GEMAK-005). Below, you can see the four layers being applied over 2 hours and 15 minutes. A final layer will be added on Friday, when we are next in (GEMAK is closed tomorrow), using a finer brush to highlight some of the finer details on the hand etc.
One of the most interesting aspects about the software, is that brush direction can be tightly controlled, so all the layers were arranged with their own specific set of brush-stroke patterns, which changed over the course of the painting (e.g. rotating through 180 degrees).
The New Fordist Organization GEMAK residency was supported by GEMAK and a Stroom PRO Kunstprojecten Grant.
