TASKS: Starting of Taylor Portrait, Scanning and analysis of colour mixing.

A new portrait of Frederick Taylor was started today. In contrast to the previous works, which have all been set at 480x360 pixels and projected onto a piece of paper 120x90cm, this one uses a smaller resolution and canvas size: 240x180 pixels against a 90x67.5 area. The result of this is that the computer took less than half the previous time to analyze the image. This image is the most advanced that we have done so far, in terms of colour layers. There will be a total of 7 layers, each one using a slightly smaller brush size, with the last layer being painted multiple times in the same colour, using different brush sizes. It is hoped this will increase the overall resolution of the image, with the smaller size compensating for the added time it will take.

The first two layers were added today, and the painting will be completed tomorrow.

Here is a better quality picture of the Henry Ford picture from two days ago.

Today the colour palettes were scanned into the computer, and further analysis on them will be carried out over the next few days.

Today, Andy Ingamells joined us to discuss his part of the project, and he will be in the studio the rest of the week.
