TASKS: | painting, Robert's algorithmic spectral program, piano quantization changes |
The tests of the large painting commensed today, picking up from an aborted attempt on Friday and Saturday that was overwhelmed by technical difficulties. These are now fixed, and painting commenced quickly and efficiently today.
The idea is that, now we have proved the programs efficacy at recreating existing images, to try and move into more aesthetically interesting areas and make the paintings more abstract, yet still using existing images as their basis.
Robert was still busy coding...
... and Jeremiah briefly stopped by to inform us of his progress, technical requirements and plans.
I got to work on solving some of the notation issues related to the live piano quantization program that will be unveiled at the opening, although I have had it operational for quite a while. When there is a large density of beat subdivisions, the notation tends towards a mess, and the day was spent improvising on piano and gradually tweaking internal settings in the notation program to get it to be more readable.
